1) Next Year's Annual Theme Help


Help create the next annual theme for LAPTA! This year, our theme was "Join the PTA Adventure!" I know you have wonderful ideas, and we'd love the collaboration. Email your ideas or artwork to President@LouisianaPTA.org. We'll send out a survey to get everyone to vote on the next theme in mid-April, so send your ideas before then.


2) Apply for LAPTA Grants and Awards by March 31


3) REQUIRED Survey - 3rd Request


A dues increase is coming on July 1, 2025. I need to confirm that every PTA is aware of this. Please complete the very quick survey by March 31, 2025 if you haven't responded yet. I'll be calling PTAs that don't respond to make sure everyone knows. It is also linked at LouisianaPTA.org home page. See below for details on the dues increase.



4) Elections and Transition Time


Have you scheduled elections yet? Review the steps at LouisianaPTA.org/elections.

All officers are required to annually register with LAPTA at LouisianaPTA.org/register. For those who will be an officer for the 2025-26 year, register again now. Board Members are always encouraged to register.


5) Upcoming $1 Dues Increase


National PTA voted at its 2024 Convention to increase its dues by $1.00. Starting on July 1, 2025, membership dues that are collected by LAPTA will increase by $1 to $4.50/person. LAPTA retains $1.25 for LAPTA and forwards $3.25 to National PTA. Local PTAs can increase their dues with the approval of their General Membership.
